Chevrolet Venture Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the steering knuckle on Chevrolet Venture?
A: Repair or service operations on the Steering Knuckle require initial vehicle elevation along with adequate support. Begin repairing the Steering Knuckle by removing first the front wheel drive shaft bearing alongside the tire and wheel assembly. You must detach the ball stud of the front lower control arm next. Use universal steering linkage puller (J24319-B) to detach the outer Tie Rod End from its connection with the Steering Knuckle. First mark the strut's position on the knuckle before uninstalling the bolts that connect the strut to the knuckle and remove the knuckle from the vehicle. Reposition the knuckle back onto the vehicle before you insert the bolts to connect the strut to the knuckle then tighten them to 123 nm (90 ft. Lbs.). Install the front wheel drive shaft bearing by connecting the front lower control arm ball stud to the knuckle followed by reattaching the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle. Put the tire-wheel combination onto the vehicle before lowering it down.
