How to Replace the Shift Linkage Boot on 2005 GMC Canyon?

In order to change the control lever or boot, take away the shift lever assembly and console. Lift the lever of control boot, move the transmission to neutral and remove the control lever housing assembly. Cover the hole, remove (when necessary) and replace the control lever housing and boot, and be sure these are properly aligned.
