It is essential to remove both the Flywheel spacer when possible while avoiding all lubrication on both the oil seal's id as well as crankshaft surface because the rear crankshaft oil seal cannot be reused. Start your replacement of the oil seal by applying clean engine oil to its outside diameter (OD) while ensuring the seal surface remains oil-free. Apply clean engine oil to the rear cover oil seal bore before installation while keeping the crankshaft surface free from contamination. Place the j 41479 tapered cone and bolts onto the rear of the crankshaft then tighten them to a snug fit but avoid over-tightening the bolts. Insert the rear oil seal on the tapered cone's cone then forward push it until it reaches the rear cover bore. Place the j 41479 threaded rod into the tapered cone until the tool reaches the oil seal and position the oil seal within the tool bracket. Use the handle to rotate the tool clockwise so the seal passes through to the cover bore until it reaches its lowest point. Reinstall the engine Flywheel after removing the j 41479 tool.
