    Q:
How to Replace a Crankshaft Seal on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the crankshaft rear oil seal, dismantle out the Transmission Assembly and the engine Flywheel. Afterwards, apply an appropriate tool to delicately pry off the crankshaft rear oil seal from its housing and dispose of the old seal. Clean out any dirt or rust before adding a small amount (2 to 3 drops) of clean engine oil on the bore of the crankshaft rear oil seal housing, flywheels pilot flange diameter, Flywheel locator pin outside diameter, and Crankshaft Seal surface. Check the j35621-b rear main seal installer (J35621-B) for flaws and eliminate slight irregularities using least grade emery cloth, without any oil or lubricants getting to the lip surface. Take off the sleeve of the crankshaft rear oil seal and apply some clean engine oil in the amount (2 to 3 drops) at the outside diameter of the seat. Mount the crankshaft rear oil seal to the j35621-b and then on the rear of the crankshaft by hand-tightening the tool bolts until tight. Proper alignment is critical; confirm that the seal is close flush and square to the housing. Rotate the j35621-b wing nut clockwise until its sealing is done properly, as there is a greater resistance at the bottom of the housing bore. Cut the j35621-b away from the seal, and pull it out of the crankshaft. Remove all extra engine oil using clean rag get engine Flywheel and the Transmission Assembly back in place.

    Q:
How to service and repair the front crankshaft seal on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service and repair of the front crankshaft seal begins with removal of the crankshaft balancer. A suitable tool should be used to take out the crankshaft front oil seal before checking the engine front cover seal bore and the crankshaft balancer sealing surface for damage. Check the integrity of pre-applied grease on the crankshaft front oil seal before installing it with J 35463 (J 35463). Before reinstalling the crankshaft balancer you must check that the crankshaft front seal matches both dimensions of the engine front cover. The J 35468 (J 35468) Cover Aligner Seal Installer stands as one of the required tools for this procedure.

    Q:
What tools are required to service and repair the main bearing crankshaft seal on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
A repairing or replacing the Crankshaft main bearing seal requires these tools: rear main seal installer (J 35621-B). Rear main seal installer (J 35621-B). Start by detaching both the Transmission Assembly along with the engine Flywheel. Proper tool insertion into access notches enables safe removal of the Crankshaft rear oil seal from its housing. Throw out the previous bearing seal while cleaning all the dirt and rust away from the installation area. For installation you should apply 2 to 3 drops of clean engine oil to four components: the bore of the Crankshaft rear oil seal housing, the outside diameter of the engine Flywheel pilot flange, the outside diameter of the Flywheel locator pin and the Crankshaft Seal surface. Check the j 35621-b flange for damage then remove minor imperfections with emery cloth while ensuring the seal lip surface avoids oil and lubricant contact during inspection. Apply a tiny oil drop (2 to 3 drops) from a clean oil source to the outside edge of the Crankshaft rear oil seal before installing the unit. First install the Crankshaft rear oil seal onto both the j 35621-b tool as well as the Crankshaft rear surface with hand torque on the tool bolts until they become snug. Proper alignment stands as a vital requirement during Crankshaft rear oil seal installation. Proper installation requires positioning the Crankshaft rear oil seal near flush with the housing while being square to the Crankshaft rear seal housing to minimize failure. Continue tightening the j 35621-b wing nut until the seal reaches the housing's bottom while it remains near flush and square to the surface. The tool will provide greater resistance during this final stage of installation. Free the j 35621-b from the Crankshaft rear oil seal housing and remove it from the Crankshaft. Before reinstalling both parts wipe away any remaining engine oil with a clean rag.
