How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on Chevrolet Colorado?

Start with Flywheel removal before you begin changing the Crankshaft rear oil seal while maintaining careful protection of both the Crankshaft and the seal bore. A suitable tool should be used to pry out the Crankshaft rear oil seal from its housing on the Crankshaft rear oil seal housing. Remove the old seal. Before installing the Crankshaft rear oil seal users should apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the lip of the new component. Place the plastic installation sleeve from the new seal onto the Crankshaft. The installation requires the j 44215 rear seal installer (J 44215) along with the j 8092 driver handle (J 8092) and a hammer to properly position the Crankshaft rear oil seal into its housing while maintaining the spring side toward the engine and achieving correct alignment. Full installation causes the seal to sink entirely into the housing. Finally, reinstall the Flywheel.

How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on Chevrolet Tahoe?

To change crankshaft rear oil seal, remove the automatic transmission flexplate, and discard the crankshaft rear oil seal (141). For correct installation, pay attention to the orientation of the oil seal that has a reverse-lip form with the text of the part number on the external side. Check part number markings on the seal, making sure the seal is orientated correctly. Mount the J 41479 cone and bolts, securing them to the rear of the crankshaft while holding the bolts tight but not over tightening. Next, install the rear oil seal onto the tapered cone with the part number markings away from the engine so as to push the seal to the rear seal bore. Thread the threaded rod J 41479 through the tapered cone till it is at the oil seal, and then align your oil seal into the tool. Rotate the handle of the tool clockwise until the seal enters the rear cover, and bottoms into the cover bore. Lastly, take off the J 41479 and refit the automatic transmission flexplate.

How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on Chevrolet S10?

In order to replace the crankshaft rear oil seal, it is important to remove the assembly of transmissions and engine Flywheel. Next, throttle, and using an appropriate tool, gently pry the crankshaft rear cover oil seal out of its seat and dispose of the old seal. Make sure the area is clean and free of any dirt and 2 to 3 drops of clean engine oil to the bore of the crankshaft rear oil seal housing, the outside diameter of the engine Flywheel pilot flange, the outside diameter of the fly wheel locator pin and the Crankshaft Seal surface. Check the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) flange for imperfection and remove a minor imperfection with a fine grade emery cloth and that no oil or lubricant contacts the seal lip surface. Take off the sleeve of the crankshaft rear oil seal and dab a little bit (2 to 3 drops) of clean oil engine oil out to its outside diameter. Mount the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) crankshaft rear oil seal onto the rear part of the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) and tighten the tool bolts snug by hand. Proper alignment is critical; make sure that the seal is flush and square to the housing to avoid timely failure. Turn the j 35621-b wing nut clockwise until the seal is properly installed while feeling the increased resistance when it is bottom meets the housing bore. Release the tool by rotating the wing nut counterclockwise and then take the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) off the crankshaft. Clean off any excess engine oil with a rag before reinstalling the engine Flywheel and Transmission Assembly.

Proper alignment is critical; make sure that the seal is flush and square to the housing to avoid timely failure. Turn the j 35621-b wing nut clockwise until the seal is properly installed while feeling the increased resistance when it is bottom meets the housing bore. Release the tool by rotating the wing nut counterclockwise and then take the j 35621-b (J 35621-B) off the crankshaft. Clean off any excess engine oil with a rag before reinstalling the engine Flywheel and Transmission Assembly.
