Crankshaft Seal is one of the spare parts that must be used in enhancing the efficiency and the durability of Chevrolet SSR vehicles, which were manufactured between the years 2003 and 2006. Sitting at the first end of the engine, the Crankshaft Seal is specifically tasked with keeping oil leakage from the crankcase to a minimum to allow for the right lubrication of the engine. This is important in decreasing various resistances and abrasive force on the engine components that would improve the efficiency and safety of the Chevrolet SSR. Since the models of Chevrolet SSR, the Crankshaft Seal focused on its chief work and; nevertheless, adjustments in the type of material and structure entered theframes in order to adapt the engine. Select Chevrolet models like the Chevrolet SSR, this car is famous for its car retractable hardtops and civil V8 engines especially require the proper functioning of the Crankshaft Seal since the slightest damage may result in oil leak and further complications to the car engine. The Crankshaft Seal is therefore very reliable due to the way it is designed; usually as a combination of metal and rubber which can well withstand the strains of high performace driving. Due to compatibility with the different models of Chevrolet SSR, Crankshaft Seal will always have a bigtask of maintaining the overall engine. If performance and safety are critical features of a particular market, then Crankshaft Seal cannot be overlooked because it is a cornerstone of the Chevrolet SSR's superiority in its fundamental elements.

Chevrolet SSR Crankshaft Seal Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on Chevrolet SSR?
    A:
Before you start the crankshaft rear oil seal replacement you need to first remove the engine Flywheel followed by removing the crankshaft rear oil seal from the rear cover. A crucial step is to remove the Flywheel spacer when possible since you should never lubricate the oil seal inside diameter nor the crankshaft surface because the crankshaft rear oil seal must be discarded for future use. Apply clean engine oil to both the new oil seal's outer diameter and the rear cover oil seal bore but do this without letting oil reach the seal surface. Install the j 41479 tapered cone together with nut bolts onto the crankshaft rear where you should avoid over-tightening the bolts. Apply the rear oil seal against the tapered cone before pushing it into the rear cover bore. Insert the j 41479 threaded rod into the tapered cone while moving it forward until the tool operates against the oil seal to achieve correct alignment. After installing the engine Flywheel you should rotate the tool handle clockwise until the rear cover bore contains the full seal depth. Remove the j 41479 tool and replace it with the engine Flywheel.
