The removal of oil lubricant from oil sealing surfaces and exclusion of old crankshaft oil seal usage stands as a critical condition for this operation. Use clean engine oil to lubricate both the outer edge of new oil seal (140) and the front cover oil seal bore. Position the crankshaft front oil seal (140) on the J 41478 guide before it goes onto the Cricket Front Oil Seat Installer (J 41478). The J 41478 threaded rod combined with a nut and washer and guide and oil seal needs to be inserted into the end of the crankshaft. When using the J 41478 tool to position the oil seal within the cover bore you should grip the hex section with one wrench while turning the installer nut clockwise with the second wrench until the oil seal reaches the full depth of the bore. Test if the front cover bore has received a perfectly installed oil seal after removing the J 41478 tool. Finally, reinstall the crankshaft balancer.
