Chevrolet Prizm Crankshaft Seal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the front crankshaft seal on Chevrolet Prizm?
A: The service of the front Crankshaft Seal starts by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Before removing the Crankshaft Pulley users should protect the Crankshaft by wrapping the screwdriver tip with tape. A screwdriver should be used to remove the Crankshaft front oil seal. The installation of new Crankshaft front oil seal requires chassis grease (GM P/N 1051344 or equivalent) as a lubricant. You can position the seal properly using a hammer with appropriate driver until it reaches the edge of the Crankshaft front oil seal retainer. Attain the Crankshaft Pulley and reinstall it while attaching the negative Battery Cable and securing the Battery Cable bolt with 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) torque. Finally, start the engine.
