2002 Chevrolet Prizm Crankshaft Seal Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the front crankshaft seal on 2002 Chevrolet Prizm?
A: The replacement of the crankshaft front oil seal requires users to begin by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. A screwdriver tip needs tape on its end for crankshaft protection while disconnecting the Crankshaft Pulley. A screwdriver should be used for removing the crankshaft front oil seal. Wipe the new crankshaft front oil seal with chassis grease (GM P/N 1051344 or equivalent) before installing it with a hammer and appropriate driver until it reaches the retainer edge. Reattach the Crankshaft Pulley while linking the negative Battery Cable then tighten the Battery Cable bolt to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.). Finally, start the engine.
