Begin by elevating the vehicle for the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 2 replacement procedure. The HO2S connector needs to be disconnected first. Use an Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) to take out the HO2S. The new oxygen sensor threads should be coated with anti-seize compound GM P/N 5613695 that contains liquid graphite and glass beads to simplify future uninstallation procedures. You should install the HO2S through the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) then torque the sensor to 42 N.m (31 lb ft). Lower the vehicle after connecting the HO2S harness connector.
