The first step to replace the Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose in a Rack And Pinion system involves removing the front grille. Begin by separating the power steering outlet hose from the power steering gear while always paying attention to the Power Steering Hose disconnected notice for safety purposes. Disconnect the power steering inlet hose from the Power Steering Pump before extracting the bolts which secure the cooler to the radiator support so you can smoothly remove the Power Steering Cooler. To install the Power Steering Cooler first position it back into its original place then tighten the retaining bolts to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) according to the fastener notice specifications. The power steering inlet hose requires connection to the Power Steering Pump while securing it with a retaining clamp. Install the power steering outlet hose to the power steering gear by attaching it with its retaining clamp. After power steering system bleeding you must check every hose connection for leaks before reinstalling the front grille.
