How to replace the automatic transmission shift cable on 2005 GMC Sierra 3500?

In order to change the Shift Cable, place the steering column shift lever in park and take a knee bolster out. Take out the driver seat, carpet and insulation. Loosen the cable of steering column and the transmission shift lever. Install in reverse sequence and make sure that the parts are in place and that the transmission works properly.
