Before you begin raise and support the vehicle and disconnect the electrical connector from the generator. You must reposition the protective boot from the generator output bat terminal for access before removing the generator output bat terminal nut and disconnecting the battery positive lead from the generator. Start by removing generator lower bolts and lowering the vehicle before you pull out the generator through its upper bolt. Place the generator into position on the engine before installing the generator upper bolt. Position the vehicle onto a lift for support then tighten the generator lower bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Connect the battery positive lead to the generator bat terminal after tightening the nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in) then install the bat terminal boot. Lower the vehicle before connecting the electrical connector to the generator and installing the Drive Belt onto the generator while reattaching the battery negative cable.
