• Q: How to replace the ignition coil for Bank 1 on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?

  A: To replace an Ignition Coil of bank 1, first turn the ignition off and remove the cover of the engine. If replacing the Ignition Coil for cylinder 5, turn off the ignition and disconnect the air cleaner duct from Throttle Body, remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right-bank camshaft cover, and remove the intake runner bolts without splitting the upper and lower Intake Manifold. After that, take the bolts off Intake Manifold brace (1 and 2) and the brace itself and remove the upper Intake Manifold without uncoupling the fuel pipes or hoses. Displace the Ignition Coil electrical connectors, then the Ignition Coil bolts, and subsequently remove the ignition coils. For installation, revert the ignition coils and make sure they are in place using the Ignition Coil bolts with a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in) for tightening and then reattaching the Ignition Coil electrical connectors. If it is necessary, reinstall the Intake Manifold and at last the engine cover.
