Begin the Ignition Coil replacement for cylinder 2 by turning off the ignition power then removing the engine cover component. Remove the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body while you also disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover. Carefully remove Intake Manifold bolts without unfastening the upper Intake Manifold from its position with the lower Intake Manifold. After you remove bolts 1 and 2 from the Intake Manifold brace you can disassemble the brace and shift the upper Intake Manifold toward the lower manifold for sufficient coil removal space while leaving fuel pipes and hoses untouched. First disconnect the electrical connectors for ignition coils before removing bolts along with ignition coils. To install the ignition coils place them into position then bolt them in and set the Ignition Coil bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque and finish up by reconnecting the Ignition Coil electrical connectors.

Begin Ignition Coil replacement by unscrewing the Spark Plug Wires then note their original connection order. Take out the Ignition Coil by disconnecting its 2 screws from the Ignition Control Module and removing it from the vehicle. Install the new Ignition Coil by placing it in position then fasten it down with the 2 attaching screws using a torque setting of 4.5 n.m (40 lb in) according to the fastener notice in service precautions. Complete the procedure by connecting the Spark Plug Wires.

The first step of replacing the Ignition Coil(S) for bank 1 requires turning off the ignition while also removing the engine cover. The process of changing an Ignition Coil for cylinder 1 requires removing and repositioning the Intake Manifold but maintaining the fuel pipes and hoses in position. Remove the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body before uninstalling the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from right bank camshaft cover. Begin by removing the Intake Manifold bolts while maintaining the upper manifold connection with the lower manifold. Next remove the Intake Manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace itself. Push the upper Intake Manifold onto the lower manifold to create enough space for Ignition Coil removal. Pull off the Ignition Coil electrical connectors and remove the Ignition Coil bolts to extract the coils from the engine. To install the Ignition Coil(s), reposition them into their proper location using Ignition Coil bolt(s) which should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in) following service precautions fastener notice. Complete the installation by reattaching your Ignition Coil electrical connector(s) and if needed reinstall the Intake Manifold and engine cover.

Start by turning the ignition off followed by removal of the engine cover without touching fuel hoses or pipes. To replace the Ignition Coil for cylinder 1 or 3 you must disconnect the air cleaner duct from the Throttle Body along with the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover but ensure that the upper Intake Manifold remains connected to the lower Intake Manifold. Start by disconnecting the Intake Manifold bolts followed by the Intake Manifold brace bolts 1 and 2 and finally the brace to free up space for Ignition Coil removal. To proceed with the Ignition Coil replacement disconnect the electrical connector(s) then remove the bolt(s) and pull out the Ignition Coil(s). Installation requires placing each Ignition Coil back into position while tightening Ignition Coil bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in) then connecting electrical connectors to the coils. Complete the procedure with reinstallation of the Intake Manifold before returning the engine cover.

Place the ignition coils and secure them with the ignition coil bolts, tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in), then reconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.

Remove the intake manifold brace bolts (1 and 2) and the brace, then take off the upper intake manifold without disconnecting the fuel pipes or hoses.

Begin by placing the ignition coil(s) back in position, ensuring to follow fastener caution guidelines.

Remove and reposition the intake manifold by disconnecting the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover, while keeping the upper intake manifold attached to the lower intake manifold.

Turn the ignition OFF and remove the engine cover without disconnecting the fuel pipes or hoses.

Remove the intake manifold bolts, the intake manifold brace bolts (1 and 2), and the brace.

Detach the engine harness clip and the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) clip from the ignition coil bracket, then remove the ignition coil bracket bolts/nuts and the bracket itself, along with the ignition coil bracket studs if necessary.

Remove and reposition the intake manifold by disconnecting the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover, while keeping the upper intake manifold attached to the lower intake manifold.

Reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold.

Reconnect the ignition coil electrical connector(s), and if necessary, reinstall the intake manifold.

Remove the intake manifold bolts, the intake manifold brace bolts (1 and 2), and the brace.

Connect the electrical connector to the coil pack and install the remote power steering fluid reservoir mounting bolts.

Remove and reposition the intake manifold by disconnecting the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover.

Place the ignition coil(s) back in, install the ignition coil bolt(s) tightening them to 10 Nm (89 lb in), and reconnect the ignition coil electrical connector(s).

Reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold to gain sufficient clearance for ignition coil removal.

Reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold to gain sufficient clearance for ignition coil removal.

Turn the ignition OFF and remove the engine cover, ensuring not to disconnect the fuel pipes or hoses.

Disconnect the air cleaner duct from the throttle body and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the right bank camshaft cover, then remove the intake manifold bolts without disconnecting the fuel pipes or hoses.

Reconnect the ignition coil electrical connector(s) and, if necessary, install the upper intake manifold.

If necessary, install the upper intake manifold.

Reposition the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold to gain sufficient clearance for ignition coil removal.

Ensure the spark plug seals are in place.

First, remove the intake manifold.
