    A: To replace the Thermostat Housing (LY7), one should start disconnecting the heater hoses from the heater core, then remove the Thermostat as well as the Thermostat Housing bolts. Next, disconnect the Thermostat Housing as well as the heater pipes, hoses, and bolts, and clean the sealing surfaces with a plastic gasket scraper (J 28410 or equivalent) very carefully. Unto installation, assemble the heater pipes and hoses to Thermostat Housing, then put on a new gasket into the Thermostat Housing. Monte the Thermostat Housing bolts partially to hold the gasket in place before installing the Thermostat Housing with the heater pipes, hoses, gasket, and bolts. Make sure to install the Thermostat Housing bolts and tighten them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Last, install the Thermostat and reconnect the heater hoses to the heater core.
