    Q:
How to replace the Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing (LY7) on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconniecting the heater hoses from the Heater Core, removing the Thermostat and the Thermostat housing bolts are the factors that help in using the engine coolant Thermostat housing (LY7). Subsequently, remove the Thermostat housing, heater pipes, hoses, and bolts, and clear the sealing faces with help of a plastic gasket scraper (J 28410 or its kind). For the assembly, install the heater pipes and hoses to the Thermostat housing, and install a new gasket onto the Thermostat housing. Partially install the Thermostat housing bolts to hold the gasket before inserting the Thermostat housing with the heater pipes, hoses, gasket, and bolts. Make sure to finger tighten the Thermostat housing bolts to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) and then install the Thermostat. Lastly, reconnect heater hoses with the heater cores.

    Q:
How to replace the thermostat (LY7) on Buick LaCrosse? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the Thermostat (LY7) replacement by partially draining the cooling system without separating upper and lower intake manifolds. First disconnect both the upper and lower intake manifolds before separating the surge tank hose from the Thermostat location. The replacement of the Thermostat (LY7) starts with removing the coolant pipe/Thermostat housing bolt, then the coolant pipe bolt followed by separating the coolant inlet pipe from the Thermostat housing. Remove the coolant pipe o-ring seal and Thermostat seal when performing the Thermostat bolt removal and Thermostat removal process. Before installing the Thermostat place it with a new Thermostat seal then use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Installation of the new coolant pipe seal follows after it is reattached with the fasteners 1 & 3 before reconnecting the surge tank hose to the Thermostat and lastly reinstalling upper and lower intake manifolds to complete the cooling system's refill.
