  A: Begin water outlet housing (LA1) replacement by using j 38185 hose clamp pliers to remove air cleaner and duct assembly. Start by draining coolant until it drops below the Thermostat level before moving forward with removal of both crossover Exhaust Pipe and Thermostat housing Radiator Hose. The processor starts by removing the Thermostat housing bolts while cleaning the bolt threads free of sealer residue before extracting both the Thermostat and housing with gasket. Thorough mating surface cleaning must occur before installing both the Thermostat and new Thermostat housing using a gasket. Rub rtv sealer (GM P/N 1052366 or equivalent) on the Thermostat housing bolt threads then secure the bolts with 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs. )torque. The coolant refill process requires reinstalling the Radiator Hose to the Thermostat housing then replacing the crossover Exhaust Pipe and air cleaner and duct assembly.
