  A: All required tools to replace the Thermostat (LA1) include the following: hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Start by removing both the air cleaner and duct assembly before draining enough coolant so the Thermostat stays beneath the visible level. Before the replacement the crossover Exhaust Pipe must be detached together with the Radiator Hose which connects to the Thermostat Housing. Disassemble the Thermostat Housing bolts before cleaning each thread thoroughly while removing the components together with their gasket. Use a clean cloth to wipe down both surfaces where the Thermostat connects. Begin by mounting the new Thermostat followed by installing both the Thermostat Housing and gasket. Start by placing the new Thermostat before adding the housing and gasket. Tighten the bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) then reinstall the Radiator Hose and crossover Exhaust Pipe. Last, replace the air cleaner and duct assembly before completing the cooling system refill.
