To replace the oil cooler inlet line, empty the engine coolant from the cooling system and then lift and support the vehicle. Unplug the knock sensor electronic connector and take out the
Oil Filter. Now, take off the hose connected to the oil cooler outlet and the oil cooler connector. Stop the hose clamp on the top of the oil cooler and get rid of the oil cooler, remove the hose clamp on the port then remove the Oil Cooler Hose from the oil cooler fitting on the hose. If necessary, remove the Oil Cooler Hose connection. For repair, if the Oil Cooler Hose fitting were to be removed, insert it and tighten to 19 nm (14ft. Lbs.). Secure the oil cooler hose with a hose clamp and ensure the oil cooler is properly seated. Install the oil cooler connector and fasten to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.), and connect the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler. Replace the Oil Filter, reconnect the knock sensor electrical connector, drop the vehicle, and fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Top up on engine oil where needed and check the oil cooler for leaks.
