How to replace the water pump (LY7) on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?

Begin Water Pump replacement tasks by removing water from the cooling system. First disconnect the generator Drive Belt from the engine. Clamp the Water Pump Pulley in place using part en 46104 and take out both bolts and the pulley from its shaft. After taking off the Water Pump bolts you should remove the Water Pump while properly disposing of the old Water Pump seal. Prepare Water Pump sealing areas correctly before adding a new Water Pump seal and fitting the Water Pump. Insert Water Pump bolts and screw them to 10 nm torque setting. Next install the Water Pump Pulley with its bolts using the standard torque values. To tighten the Water Pump Pulley bolts insert them in the Water Pump Pulley holding tool en 46104 and apply 12nm (106 inch lbs.) force. Replace the generator belt and refill the cooling system after installation.
