How to replace the water pump for RPOs L26/L32 on Buick LaCrosse?

The first step to change rpo l26/l32 water pumps involves draining the cooling system. Put the accessory wiring system aside first and loosen Water Pump bolt holding the Drive Belt. Begin by removing both Water Pump Pulley bolts and then taking out the pulley. Pull out the Power Steering Pump bolts to move the pump aside. Uninstall both Water Pump bolts and remove the Water Pump piece after taking off the gasket. Check both surfaces where the gasket will sit for any dirt before starting. Insert the gasket and Water Pump correctly then tighten the long bolts to 34 n.m (25 lb ft) and the short bolts to 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Secure the Water Pump Pulley bolts by tightening them to 13 nm (115 lb in). Reinstall the Power Steering Pump before placing the Drive Belt back in its position. Put back the accessory wiring junction and refilled the cooling system at the end.
