Unwind the Water Pump bolts (318) and remove the Water Pump (300) unit attached to its gasket (314). Dispose of the obsolete gasket during the process. Check the Water Pump matching surfaces for repair before installing the new gasket set. After fitting a new Water Pump (300) with a fresh gasket (314) set it into place properly before turning the Water Pump bolts (318) up to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Put back the Drive Belt afterward set the battery tray and battery into place. End the repair by filling up the cooling system.

Draining the cooling system using correct drainage procedures should precede Water Pump replacement. The replacement process begins by taking out the Drive Belt before extracting the right engine strut mount and right engine mount strut bracket. Employ the en 46104 Water Pump Pulley holding tool to prevent the Water Pump Pulley as you remove the Water Pump Pulley bolts followed by the pulley itself. Perform Water Pump bolt removal before removing the pump itself while discarding the outdated Water Pump seal. Before you install a new Water Pump seal and its accompanying Water Pump on your vehicle's Water Pump you must thoroughly clean both sealing surfaces. Screw in the Water Pump bolts until they reach 10 nm (89 lb in) torque then reinstall the Water Pump Pulley while securing its bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in) using the en 46104 tool for protection. Reinstall the right engine strut mount together with the right engine mount strut bracket before fitting the Drive Belt. Use proper method to complete the cooling system filling process.

Before working on the Water Pump (RPO LNJ) (3.4L) you must drain the cooling system until the pump is submerged in air. Using the j 39914 tool rotate the Drive Belt tensioner with the Water Pump Pulley bolts loose to let tension off before taking the Drive Belt from the right idler pulley. Lower the j 39914 tool to properly reduce Drive Belt tensioner pressure as you take it off from the tensioner. After taking off the Water Pump Pulley bolts you need to remove the pulley itself and then the Water Pump pivots and the Water Pump alongside the Water Pump Gasket . Prepare the Water Pump surfaces for new gasket installation while fitting in the Water Pump. Use a torque wrench to fasten the Water Pump bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Attach the Water Pump Pulley and insert the bolts using loose finger tightness. After centering your Drive Belt on every pulley area except the right idler pulley , push down the j39914 to move the Drive Belt tensioner out from the belt. Install the belt over the right idler pulley. Release the j 39914 gently so the Drive Belt tensioner connects with the Drive Belt. Take the j 39914 off the tensioner after contact occurs. Look at the belt position to make sure it sits in the middle of every pulley (1-8) before tightening Water Pump Pulley bolts to 25 n.m. At last add coolant and look for fluid leaks.

Begin the process of replacing the Water Pump by utilizing the proper method to drain the cooling system. Begin by taking off the Drive Belt and then moving to the right engine strut mount and right engine mount strut bracket. With a Water Pump Pulley holding tool restore the Water Pump before removing all pulley bolts and taking off the pulley. Take out the Water Pump bolts and Water Pump unit from its location while discarding the worn seal. Clean every Water Pump surface thoroughly before putting on a fresh Water Pump seal and the Water Pump. Secure the Water Pump bolts with 10 nm (89 lb in), reinstall the Water Pump Pulley, and tighten its bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in) while using the en 46104 (Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool) retention fixture. Put back the right engine strut mount and right engine mount strut bracket and install the Drive Belt. Complete the cooling system through correct filling procedures.

You need to empty the cooling system before starting the Water Pump replacement work. First take off the Drive Belt and then get rid of the right engine strut mount while you uninstall the right engine mount strut bracket. Put the Water Pump Pulley holding tool (EN 46104) in place and uninstall the Water Pump Pulley bolts and pulley from the assembly. First take out all Water Pump bolts and the pump itself while discarding its old seal. Prep the Water Pump sealing surfaces before putting in a fresh Water Pump seal and pump. Set the bolts in the Water Pump using 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque and put back the Water Pump Pulley and its bolts while keeping the pulley secured with the Water Pump Pulley holding tool (EN 46104). Reinstall the right engine strut mount and bracket together with the Drive Belt while filling the cooling system.

Remove the generator drive belt.

Reinstall the power steering pump, followed by the drive belt.

Clean the sealing surfaces of the water pump carefully.

Install the water pump bolts, tightening them to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

Tighten the water pump bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the water pump.

Place a new water pump seal and install the water pump, ensuring to tighten the water pump bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Reconnect the electrical connector and attach the first hose to the auxiliary water pump, using the Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185) to slide the hose clamp back into its original position.

Use the EN 46104 (Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool).

Remove the generator drive belt.

First, drain the cooling system and remove the generator drive belt.

Reinstall the water pump pulley and its bolts, using the EN 46104 (Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool) again.

Reinstall the generator drive belt and fill the cooling system.

Reinstall the drive belt tensioner and the water pump drive belt, followed by the cooling fan.

Disconnect the radiator inlet hose, radiator outlet hose, and heater inlet and outlet hoses.

Carefully release the J 39914, allowing the drive belt tensioner to contact the drive belt, and remove the J 39914 from the tensioner.

Remove the three inner water pump sprocket to water pump bolts, followed by the two water pump bolts and the rear two water pump bolts.

Hand tighten the bolts, then install the inner water pump sprocket bolts, removing the guide pin after two are snug.

Remove the three inner water pump sprocket to water pump bolts, followed by the two water pump bolts and the rear two water pump bolts.

Install the water pump pulley and its bolts, using the EN 46104 Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool (EN 46104) to retain the pulley while tightening the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
