  A: To change the Water Pump on the ly7 gas engine with its 6 cylinder 3.6l v6 sfi arrangement start by draining the cooling system through the ge 47716 vac n fill coolant refill tool and static fill setup. Take the generator Drive Belt out of its position. Use the en 46104 (Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool) to secure the Water Pump Pulley before you unfasten and remove the Water Pump Pulley bolts and the pulley itself. Detach the bolts from the Water Pump assembly before taking out the pump and discarding the previous seal. Thoroughly clean the area where the Water Pump makes contact. After placing a new Water Pump seal install the Water Pump and keep the bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Replace the Water Pump Pulley holding tool over the pulley before fastening the pulley bolts with five millimeter torque. Reinstall the generator Drive Belt and then fill the coolant system with a ge 47716 tool during static loading.
