Water Pump

A vehicle owner must drain engine coolant before starting the auxiliary water pump replacement task. You can remove the hose from the auxiliary water pump by sliding the hose clamp down using hose clamp pliers part number J 38185. Pull the hose clamp towards the hose and then disconnect the hose from the auxiliary water pump. Detach the auxiliary water pump electricity link before removing both pump nuts and finally removing the pump hardware. Position the new auxiliary water pump while putting the nuts in place then tighten them to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Push the hose onto the auxiliary water pump and secure it properly by sliding the hose clamp back using Hose Clamp Pliers J 38185. Position the new auxiliary water pump onto threads after linking the second hose and tightening the hose clamp with Hose Clamp Pliers (J 38185). Finally, fill the coolant.

Draining the coolant comes first when replacing the auxiliary water pump on 4.6L units with V03 and V92 RPOs. The Hose Clamp Pliers model J38185 lets you slide the clamp onto the hose and detach the hose from the auxiliary water pump. Afterward put the hose clamp back over the hose while disconnecting the hose from the auxiliary water pump. You need to unplug the auxiliary water pump electrical connection first before you take out the auxiliary water pump by removing its nuts. Install the new auxiliary water pump by placing it into position and tightening its nuts to 9Nm (80 inch lbs). Connect the water pump electrical power connection and put the hose in position onto the auxiliary water pump. Use the Hose Clamp Pliers (J38185) to place the hose clamp back on its original position. Install the hose onto the auxiliary water pump using Hose Clamp Pliers (J38185) by pushing the clamp back to its factory placement on the hose. Finally, fill the coolant.

You need to drain the cooling system according to ge 47716 procedure before you can replace the Water Pump in an lc3 engine with an 8 cylinder 4.4l sc dohc setup. First remove the air cleaner components and later the Water Pump Drive Belt. Disconnect both the Water Pump and generator Drive Belt tensioner. Use a drainage pan to take out all Water Pump bolts and remove the pulley pieces including its bolts at the same time. Take out the Water Pump and its seal ring while getting rid of the old seal and thoroughly wash the engine harbor. Check if the Water Pump faces any problems during this review. Put the new Water Pump onto the engine front cover with its seal and tighten the Water Pump bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Modify the Water Pump Pulley and screw its bolts until they reach 12 n.m of torque. Set the new pump in place alongside its tensioner and install both components before placing on the Water Pump Drive Belt. Reinstall the air cleaner unit then replace the cooling system as per ge 47716 method.

You can start the Water Pump (LC3) change by emptying the cooling system through the cooling system draining and filling process (GE 47716). Begin by taking off the air filter and continuing with the Water Pump Drive Belt. Next push the Water Pump away from the generator Drive Belt tensioner then unscrew the Water Pump Pulley bolts to disconnect the pulley from the Water Pump. Set a drain pan under the Water Pump area before undoing its bolts. Drain all coolant and take out both the pump and seal to discard the old seal. Thoroughly examine and clean the surfaces on both ends of the Water Pump unit. Put the new Water Pump unit and seal onto the engine steel plate before securely tightening the Water Pump hardware to 10 nm (89 lb in). Place the new Water Pump Pulley correctly before fastening it in place with 12 nm bolts (106 lb in torque). After attaching the generator Drive Belt tensioner you need to install the Water Pump Drive Belt before fitting all parts back into place. Reinstall the air cleaner before filling the cooling system through cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716).

Remove the generator drive belt.

Use the Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool (EN 46104) again to retain the pulley and tighten the bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).

Remove the generator drive belt.

Remove the water pump bolts and the water pump, discarding the old water pump seal.

Reinstall the generator drive belt and fill the cooling system.

Remove the water pump bolts, ensuring to use a catch basin to collect any escaping coolant, and then take out the water pump and seal, discarding the old seal.

First, drain the cooling system and remove the generator drive belt.

Remove the water pump pulley bolts and the pulley itself.

Clean and inspect the water pump.

Take out the water pump pulley bolts and the pulley itself, followed by the water pump bolts.

Reinstall the drive belt tensioner and drive belt, then fill the cooling system using the Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) procedure.

Attach the water pump pulley to the water pump and secure it with the pulley bolts, tightening them to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).

First, drain the cooling system.

Clean and inspect the water pump before installing the new water pump pulley onto the water pump.

Reinstall the water pump and generator drive belt tensioner, followed by the water pump drive belt and the air cleaner assembly.
