  A: To replace the Water Pump on the lh2 - 8 cyl 4.6l dohc ho engine, first remove the air cleaner assembly, drive belt, and the Drive Belt tensioner. Drain the cooling system using the procedure cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716). Then, take out the Water Pump bolts, the Water Pump Pulley, and the Water Pump from the engine front cover and get rid of the old gasket. Prepare the Water Pump by cleaning and inspecting it before fixing a new Water Pump and gasket on the engine front cover. Attach the Water Pump Pulley on the Water Pump and bolt it, tightening the bolts up to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The Water Pump bolts must then be fitted and tightened initially to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) followed by a tightness of 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Refit the Drive Belt tensioner and Drive Belt, then refill the cooling system using the cooling system draining and filling (GE 47716) procedure. Lastly, install the air cleaner assembly.
