How to replace the water pump on 2005 Cadillac XLR?

Before working on the Water Pump the technician must take out the air cleaner, drive belt, tensioner, and drain the cooling system. Detach Water Pump bolts to take off the pulley from the Water Pump and pump from the engine front cover without keeping the gasket. First check the Water Pump for damage then install the new Water Pump Pulley to the pump before placing the Water Pump Gasket and pump onto the engine front cover. Secure the Water Pump Pulley bolts with a torque of 10 nm then install and tightly fasten the Water Pump bolts to initial 15 nm and final tightening to 30 nm. Afterwards install the Drive Belt tensioner with Drive Belt and fill the cooling system before putting on the air cleaner assembly.
