  A: The surge tank outlet hose/pipe replacement starts with draining the cooling system followed by removing the Radiator support. The hose clamp pliers j 38185 releases the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank before the technician can disconnect the hose from the surge tank. First remove the surge tank outlet hose assembly from the cooling Fan Shroud support tabs and underhood junction box retainer clip. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to release tension from the surge tank outlet hose clamp positioned at the heater pipe assembly while removing the hose from its connection to the heater pipe assembly. To complete the Radiator inlet hose disconnect turn to the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to remove tension from the clamp at the Radiator then unfasten the hose first from the Radiator and second from the engine. Disengage tension from the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the Thermostat Housing before removing the surge tank outlet hose from the housing. Detach the surge tank outlet hose assembly through its vehicle installation. Clean coolant lubricates the hoses before the surge tank outlet hose assembly installs to the vehicle by connecting at the Thermostat Housing with clamp tension at this location. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to tighten the Radiator inlet hose clamp at engine location after installation of the hose. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to engage tension on both Radiator inlet hose clamps. One clamp must be applied at the engine and the second clamp at the Radiator. Install the surge tank outlet hose to the heater pipe assembly and tighten the hose clamp at the heater pipe assembly with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185). The surge tank outlet hose requires connections to the underhood junction box retainer clip and the support tabs on the cooling Fan Shroud before being attached to the surge tank. Tighten the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank using hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Install the Radiator support while completing your cooling system filling.
