    Q:
How to replace the Coolant Pipe for the Radiator Surge Tank Inlet on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe, begin by draining the cooling system and taking off the radiator support. Travel to the surge tank inlet surge tank and then disconnect the surge tank inlet hose from the surge tank by using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to disengage tension and reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp. You will have to perform the same procedure by removing the surge tank inlet hose at the Throttle Body assembly and at the radiator. When disconnecting the surge tank inlet hose assembly from the vehicle, apply clean coolant inside the inner diameters of the hoses before placing them back. Install the surge tank inlet hose assembly on the radiator and reconnect it to the radiator with the repositioning of the hose clamp at the radiator using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Attach the surge tank inlet hose to the Throttle Body assembly, with moving the hose clamp (J 38185) at the Throttle Body assembly with hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and to attach the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank with position the hose clamp (J 38185) at the surge tank with hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Finally, install the radiator support and top up the cooling system system.

    Q:
How to Change the Coolant Pipe for the Radiator Surge Tank Inlet on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe, drain the cooling system first. Remove the Radiator support. Remove the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to drop the tension and redo the surge tank inlet hose clamp in surge tank, followed by disconnecting surge tank inlet hose from surge tank. Repeat this process with Throttle Body assembly and the Radiator using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) each time to adjust the clamps while removing the hoses. After the removal of the surge tank inlet hose assembly in the vehicle, apply clean coolant on the inside diameters of the new hoses, and install them before using it. Looking for the hose clamp assembly, connect it to the Radiator and reposition the hose clamp at the Radiator; with the help of the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) replace the hose clamp and tighten. Therefore, connect the hose to the Throttle Body assembly again, repositioning the clamp again with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185), and, finally, connect the hose to the surge tank and secure the clamp using the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) for the last time. Reinstall the Radiator support and install the cooling system.

    Q:
How to replace the coolant pipe (LY7) on Cadillac STS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Coolant Pipe (LY7) requires vehicle elevation and support. The first step should involve removing the Coolant Pipe to generator bracket bolt before lowering the raised vehicle. Start by draining the cooling system then disconnect the outlet hose from the pipe leading to the radiator. Extract the wiring harnesses from the inlet Coolant Pipe followed by removal of the Coolant Pipe-to-thermostat bolt and the Coolant Pipe-to-cylinder head bolt before extracting the entire Coolant Pipe. First install the Coolant Pipe before you begin loosely attaching the Coolant Pipe bolts. After installing the Coolant Pipe to thermostat bolt with a torque of 23 n.m (17 lb ft) begin tightening the Coolant Pipe to cylinder head bolt to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Lift and secure the vehicle once more but first place the Coolant Pipe onto the generator bracket and torque the bolt to 23 n.m (17 lb ft). After connecting the radiator's outlet hose to the Coolant Pipe you should install the wiring harnesses on the coolant inlet pipe and finish the process by filling your cooling system.
