How to replace the water pump on the LY7 or LLT engine on 2008 Cadillac STS?

The first step to replace the Water Pump on ly7 and llt engines is to drain the cooling system. Begin by taking off the generator Drive Belt. You can hold the Water Pump Pulley with en 46104 tool before removing all pulley bolts and taking off the component. Take out all Water Pump bolts first and then take out both the Water Pump and its old seal for disposal. Thoroughly clean both sides that meet when the Water Pump is installed. Place a new Water Pump seal and Water Pump in place while fastening the bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Secure the Water Pump Pulley back into place following these steps but maintain it with the en 46104 (Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool) while screwing its bolts to 12 n.m (106 lb in) torque. Reinstall the generator Drive Belt after you fill the cooling system with new fluid.
