How to replace the water pump (LY7) on 2008 Buick LaCrosse?

Draining the cooling system must happen first when replacing the Water Pump (LY7). Unfasten the generator Drive Belt from the engine. Attach the Water Pump Pulley holding tool en 46104 to the Water Pump and take out its bolts plus the pulley. Use the basin to discard the old Water Pump seal during removal of the Water Pump from its bolt connections. Prepare all Water Pump sealing areas for a new Water Pump seal and unit by cleaning them completely. Place the Water Pump bolts and torque them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Safely replace the Water Pump Pulley under the Water Pump Pulley holding tool (EN 46104) and bolt it down with a torque of 12 n.m (106 lb in). Reattach the generator Drive Belt after filling the cooling system properly.
