Water Pump

Begin your Water Pump work by disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Detach the coolant from the system and take off the Drive Belt. After disconnecting the Battery Cable and draining the coolant you need to remove all bolts from the Water Pump Pulley and its unit. Pull out the two Water Pump mounting bolts (1, 2) and simply take away the Water Pump. Prepare both parts before putting a new gasket and Water Pump back onto engine base. Fasten Water Pump bolts (1, 2) by torquing the short bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) and the long bolts to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Attach the Water Pump Pulley to its base and bolt it down with torque of 13 nm. Put on the Drive Belt then reconnect the battery and complete coolant service. Check for any coolant leakage.

To change the Water Pump (L-67) start by draining the engine coolant then disconnect the Drive Belt and supercharger idler pulley assembly. Begin by removing bolts from the Water Pump Pulley then take out the pulley followed by the Water Pump screws 1 and 2 which disconnect it from its position. Prepare the engine surfaces for installation by cleaning them before adding both the new gasket and Water Pump. Fasten the Water Pump mounting bolts (1,2) by tightening short bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) and long bolts to 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Attach the Water Pump Pulley with its hardware into place and tighten it to 13 nm before fitting the supercharger idler pulley and Drive Belt assembly. Finally, fill the cooling system.

The first step to change rpo l26/l32 water pumps involves draining the cooling system. Put the accessory wiring system aside first and loosen Water Pump bolt holding the Drive Belt. Begin by removing both Water Pump Pulley bolts and then taking out the pulley. Pull out the Power Steering Pump bolts to move the pump aside. Uninstall both Water Pump bolts and remove the Water Pump piece after taking off the gasket. Check both surfaces where the gasket will sit for any dirt before starting. Insert the gasket and Water Pump correctly then tighten the long bolts to 34 n.m (25 lb ft) and the short bolts to 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Secure the Water Pump Pulley bolts by tightening them to 13 nm (115 lb in). Reinstall the Power Steering Pump before placing the Drive Belt back in its position. Put back the accessory wiring junction and refilled the cooling system at the end.

Begin Water Pump replacement (part RPO L26) by draining the cooling system first. After disconnecting the Drive Belt you can remove Water Pump Pulley bolts then extract the pulley from its position. You first need to put the Power Steering Pump aside after disconnecting its bolts and moving the pump into position. Remove both Water Pump bolts and the pump itself. Inspect and clean both pumping surfaces before adding the new Water Pump Gasket. Use a new Water Pump Gasket before installing the Water Pump according to the specified fastener requirements. Secure the Water Pump using j 45059 angle meter torque measurements during back ups at 15 n.m (11 lb ft) and plus an additional 80 degrees. Migrate the Power Steering Pump back to its place and torque its bolts to 25 foot-pounds of torque. Fasten the Water Pump Pulley bolts slightly tight before you return the belt to its proper position. After placing the Water Pump Pulley bolts in position and setting torque to 13 n.m (115 lb in), fill the cooling system following the correct procedure.

Draining the cooling system must happen first when replacing the Water Pump (LY7). Unfasten the generator Drive Belt from the engine. Attach the Water Pump Pulley holding tool en 46104 to the Water Pump and take out its bolts plus the pulley. Use the basin to discard the old Water Pump seal during removal of the Water Pump from its bolt connections. Prepare all Water Pump sealing areas for a new Water Pump seal and unit by cleaning them completely. Place the Water Pump bolts and torque them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Safely replace the Water Pump Pulley under the Water Pump Pulley holding tool (EN 46104) and bolt it down with a torque of 12 n.m (106 lb in). Reattach the generator Drive Belt after filling the cooling system properly.

A new Water Pump needs you to drain engine coolant and disconnect the Drive Belt first. Detach the bolts from both the Water Pump Pulley before removing the parts. Next disconnect both Water Pump mounting bolts (1 and 2) followed by removing the Water Pump. Check both sides of where the Water Pump fits and examine the Water Pump units. Use a new gasket to fit the Water Pump on the engine and tighten the bolts (1, 2) using the short bolts at 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) and the long bolts at 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Attach the Water Pump Pulley with its bolts before tightening them to 13 nm (115 inch lbs.). Reinstall the Drive Belt and refill the cooling system later.

Start replacement of the Water Pump by emptying engine coolant and taking the Drive Belt off first. Begin by uninstalling both bolts from the Water Pump Pulley and removing the Water Pump Pulley itself. Unbolt the Water Pump (1 and 2) and remove the part from its installation. Scrub both parts where the gasket connects and double-check the Water Pump condition. To install the Water Pump onto the engine use a fresh gasket while tightening the bolts with jiffy rods (1, 2) at 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs) and long bolts at 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Place the Water Pump Pulley patiently and fasten its bolts at 13 nm (115 inch lbs.) before adding the Drive Belt. Finally, fill the cooling system.

The Water Pump service needs a partial drain of the cooling system before you start. Position the accessory block out of the way before you undo the Water Pump Pulley bolt with the hose clamp pliers (J38185). You should first take off the Water Pump bolts and the Water Pump Pulley afterwards. After removing Power Steering Pump bolts you can position its supply location and unscrew all Water Pump bolts including the Water Pump unit. Before installing the new Water Pump make sure to clean and inspect both surfaces where the gasket used to be placed. Use the torque angle meter (J36660-A) to add new gasket and Water Pump to their positions. Install the bolts with specified torque using the meter and stop at these values: tighten long bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) plus 40 degrees and short bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) plus 80 degrees. Place the Water Pump Pulley and loosely install its bolts before putting back the Power Steering Pump with its mounting hardware. Reattach the belt and screw in the Water Pump Pulley bolts until they reach a torque force of 13 nm (15 inch lbs.). Put back the accessory wiring junction block before adding coolant and looking for any fluid leaks.

Draining the cooling system and relocating the accessory wiring junction block is the first step to replace the Water Pump. Start working by first detaching the Water Pump Pulley bolts, then the Drive Belt, uninstalling both the Water Pump bolts and pulley from the engine. Move the Power Steering Pump aside while taking out its retention bolts. Then unfasten the Water Pump bolts followed by the Water Pump itself. Pick out the Water Pump Gasket and examine and prepare the parts where it meets. Set the Water Pump on its gasket and bolt the long Water Pump bolts to 34 nm while tightening the short Water Pump bolts to 22 nm. Fasten the Water Pump Pulley with a torque of 13 nm. Restore the Power Steering Pump unit alongside Drive Belt and accessory wiring before filling the cooling system.

Before replacing the Water Pump for a 3.8l engine start by removing part of the cooling system fluid then moving the accessory wiring junction block. Install the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to loosen Water Pump Pulley bolts before you detach the Drive Belt and bolts to take off the wheel shaft. First remove the Power Steering Pump mounting bolts before repositioning it. Then disconnect the Water Pump bolts and take off the Water Pump along with its gasket. Determine if the Water Pump mating surfaces need cleaning before inspecting the area. Start with both components on the Water Pump before you employ the torque angle meter (J 36660-A) to tighten bolt sets gradually. Work on long bolts first at 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) plus 40 degrees and short bolts afterwards at 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) plus 80 degrees. Attach the Water Pump Pulley loosely before adding its bolts and installing the Power Steering Pump with its bolts. Put the Drive Belt back in its place before securing the Water Pump Pulley bolts at 13 nm. Put back the accessory wiring junction block before filling the cooling system with fluid.

The cooling system needs partial draining before beginning to work on the Water Pump. Install the j 36660-a torque angle meter to loosen the Water Pump Pulley bolts and take away the Drive Belt. Take out the Water Pump Pulley bolts and pulley from its mounting position. Reposition the steering pump and then remove the Water Pump bolts to take out the pump unit plus its gasket. You should always clean and examine the Water Pump connection spots before putting in the new Water Pump Gasket and Water Pump unit. Use tool j 36660-a to fix Water Pump bolts with 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) torque and 40 degree angle on long bolts while tightening short bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) torque plus 80 degrees. Secure the new Water Pump Pulley by torquing both bolts to 115 inch (13 Nm). Complete the process by placing the Power Steering Pump, drive belt, and filled cooling system back in place then examine for leakages.

Begin Water Pump replacement on a 3.8l engine by draining out the cooling system. Start by loosening Water Pump Pulley bolts before removing the Drive Belt and both Water Pump Pulley bolts and finally the pulley. First remove the Power Steering Pump by repositioning it before removing both Water Pump bolts and the Water Pump. Complete the process by putting back the Power Steering Pump along with the Drive Belt and then executing a filling of the cooling system.

Install the water pump pulley and snug the pulley bolts before installing the drive belt.

Use the Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool (EN46104) to retain the water pump pulley.

Install the water pump pulley and its bolts, tightening them to 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.).

First, drain the cooling system.

Take out the water pump bolts and remove the water pump along with the gasket, discarding the old gasket.

Install the water pump bolts (1,2), tightening the short bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) and the long bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

Remove the water pump mounting bolts and the water pump.

Install the drive belt and finally fill the cooling system.

Use the Water Pump Pulley Holding Tool (EN 46104).

Finally, fill the cooling system.

First, drain the engine coolant.

Place the gasket and the water pump, then install the water pump bolts.

Remove the water pump pulley bolts and the pulley itself.

Install a new water pump gasket and the water pump.

Open the radiator drain cock to drain the engine coolant below the thermostat level.

Remove the water pump pulley bolts, the water pump pulley, and then the water pump bolts.

Place the new water pump gasket and then the water pump.

Clean the mating surfaces for the water pump gasket.

Reinstall the drive belt, the drive belt shield, and the drive belt shield bolt, tightening it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

Remove the water pump pulley bolts and the water pump pulley itself.

Install the water pump pulley and tighten its bolts to 25 Nm (18 inch lbs.).

First, drain the cooling system and remove the drive belt guard.

Clean the mating surfaces of the water pump.
