The first task in radiator outlet pipe (LY7) replacement begins with draining the entire cooling system. The first step is to take off the air cleaner assembly. Separate the radiator outlet hose from connecting to the radiator outlet pipe. Next disconnect the radiator outlet pipe bracket bolts that mount to transmission retaining bolt and radiator outlet pipe bracket to Thermostat Housing retaining bolt. The radiator outlet pipe needs to be removed from the Thermostat Housing so install a fresh o-ring onto the radiator outlet pipe before removal. Extraction of the worn o-ring that resides on the radiator outlet pipe should be performed. Insert the new o-ring to the radiator outlet pipe before installing the pipe into the Thermostat Housing. Secure the bracket from the radiator outlet pipe using both transmission retaining bolt and Thermostat Housing retaining bolt. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly following your reconnection of the radiator outlet pipe to its outlet hose. Finally, fill the cooling system.
