How to replace the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) at Position 1 on 2006 Buick Rainier?

You must first disconnect the oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector before starting the heated oxygen sensor replacement process at position 1. Remove the HO2S by utilizing the Heated Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B). A special anti-seize compound made of graphite in fluid suspension with glass beads should be used to coat threaded heated oxygen sensor connections. These compounds come pre-applied on new service sensors. A previous oxygen sensor requires application of anti-seize compound (P/N 5613695) before its threads become reinstalled. Install the heated oxygen sensor by utilizing the Heated Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) while torquing it to 41 N.m (30 lb ft). Reconnect the HO2S electrical connector as a last step.
