How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Buick Rainier?

Vehicle elevation and support must happen before commencing Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor replacement. Extract the CKP sensor by removing the retaining bolt from its connector and disconnecting the harness before removing the sensor from the engine block. Verify your sensor O-ring is free from damage before installation by examining it for wear, cracks and leakage then install a new O-ring treated with engine oil. Screw the CKP sensor into the motor block using 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque while installing the CKP sensor retaining bolt and restoring the CKP sensor harness connection. After performing the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure the vehicle should be lowered into position.
