How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2005 Buick Rainier?

In order to replace the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor first raise and support the vehicle. Follow through by removing the CKP sensor bolt and installing CKP sensor in the engine block. Disconnect the CKP sensor harness connector. The O-ring of the sensor should be checked for wear, cracks, and leakages before installation and replaced if needed and lubricated with engine oil. Mount the CKP sensor into the engine block and from there tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in), then mount the CKP sensor retaining bolt and reconnect the CKP Sensor harness connector. Finally, reduce the vehicle and carry out the CKP System Variation Learn procedure.
