How to replace the ABS Control Module on 2006 Buick Rendezvous?

The first step to replace ABS Control Module (ABSCM) requires shutting down the ignition system. Insulate the air cleaner housing from the engine compartment before you separate the abscm harness connector. Thoroughly clean the assembly while you disconnect the pump motor connector at its bottom location on the abscm. Use care when removing the 6 abscm to bpmv screws by keeping the seal and solenoid valves undamaged before you can pull the abscm from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). The installation process requires utilization of new wave springs along with screws from the new abscm and the bpmv needs to be cleaned with alcohol using a clean cloth. The abscm needs installation to the bpmv with its 6 screws while tightening the top 4 screws to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) in an x pattern followed by the bottom 2 screws to the same torque. Install the abscm harness connector to the device while protecting it with the locking tab in position. Finish by connecting the pump motor connector to the abscm's bottom side. Install the air cleaner housing and keep the ignition off to the run position before starting the diagnostic system check - vehicle.
