How to replace the left rear parking brake cable on 2006 Buick Rendezvous?

The procedure to replace the left rear park brake cable begins with releasing the park brake then suspending the vehicle manually followed by loosening the park brake cable equalizer nut to separate the left cable from the equalizer. The first step consists of loosening the park brake cable equalizer nut to remove the left side cable from the park brake equalizer while you take off the rear park brake cable retaining nut and bolt before detaching the park brake cable from the park brake actuator. The park brake cable requires drilling to remove 2 rivets which keep the cable attached to the Rear Crossmember. The new park brake cable installation begins with connecting it to the park brake cable bracket and leading it to the park brake actuator. Fasten the rear park brake cable retaining nut and bolt until they reach 10 nm (89 inch lbs.) torque setting while linking the left-hand cable to the park brake equalizer. Use 2 rivets to fasten the park brake cable onto the Rear Crossmember following adjustment of the cable before vehicle lowering.
