  A: The front park brake cable replacement process begins with instrument panel insulator removal from the left side then proceeds to uninstall the left door sill plate before folding the carpet out of the way for access. Support the vehicle while raising it and loosen the equalizer nut connecting the left side cable to the park brake equalizer. Disengage the park brake cable end at the connector before removing the cable from the equalizer and its guides. Detach the underbody studs park brake cable nuts and cable clips from their locations. Under vehicle support use the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J37043) to remove the end of the cable from its connection at the park brake lever clevis. Remove the front park brake cable through an exit on the vehicle body. When installing the new cable attach it to the vehicle before connecting it to both park brake lever and clevis. After properly supporting the vehicle again install the park brake cable clips to shielded areas followed by tightening the park brake cable nuts to underbody studs at 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.). Reinstall the cable into its guides of the equalizer before connecting the cable end to the connector while securing it to the left side cable of the equalizer. Proceed with adjusting the park brake cable followed by lowering the vehicle and then refitting the left-frame door sill plate and instrument panel insulator after properly folding over the carpet.
