How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2006 Cadillac XLR?

To change the rear compartment latch of the lid, open the rear compartment and remove the carpet. Unscrew the electrical connector and manual release cable and take the rear fascia out. Remove the latch and replace it with a new one screwing it in the panel. Re-connect the cables and replace the fascia.
