2006 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the water pump on 2006 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: When replacing the coolant pump put the ignition and start switch to lock off and cut all electrical power to avoid electrical sparks. Unplug the car's battery negative terminal. First remove the coolant from the system before disconnected bolts to access and take out the coolant pump and its seal ring. Smear lubriplater on the new coolant pump seal ring before installing it. Follow the right fasteners with the necessary part numbers and do not coat fasteners with paint or lubricant unless directed by specifications since these can force improper clamping and torque performance. Place the coolant pump onto the engine block with its flange facing the recess of the timing belt cover then fasten its mounting bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in). Fit back the rear timing belt cover while filling the engine coolant system and replacing the negative battery terminal.
