2007 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the water pump on a 1.4L/1.6L DOHC engine on 2007 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: To reinstall the coolant pump on a small dohc engine you need to start by disconnecting the car battery and draining the coolant. Pull off the rear timing belt cover pieces and back up bolts to extract the coolant pump along with its seal ring from the engine block. Install a fresh seal ring on the coolant pump then apply lubriplater(R) over its sealing area for proper installation. Position the coolant pump flange onto the rear timing belt cover recess and attach it to the engine block. Fasten the coolant pump bolts using 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque and place back the rear timing belt cover. Complete the engine coolant system before reinstalling the battery's negative terminal.
