2006 Chevrolet Colorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: The first step to replace the A/C accumulator requires recovering all refrigerant from the system. The evaporator tube retains the ferrules and nuts which should be left in position. Take off the nuts from the A/C accumulator and remove the A/C accumulator from its position on the evaporator tube. The installation of O-rings onto the evaporator tube requires placement before the A/C accumulator gets connected to the tube facing the evaporator direction. Tighten the nuts that hold the A/C accumulator to 15 N.m (11 lb ft). A leak test for component fittings should be performed using the Halogen Leak Detection (J 39400-A) after system recharging.
