How to replace the rear door check link on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?

The first step to handle a rear Door Check replacement includes removing the rear door trim panel alongside the rear inside Door Handle and the rear door water deflector. Begin by disconnecting the bolt which anchors the rear check to the body before breaking the nuts which secure the check to the door to take out the check from the rear door. Place the new rear Door Check on the door while keeping the alignment mark pointed towards the top. Fasten the rear Door Check to the door using the installed nuts while tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in) followed by tightening the bolt that attaches the check to the body to 25 n.m (18.4 lb ft). Reinstall the rear door water deflector followed by the rear door inside handle.
