2006 Chevrolet Corvette Alternator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the alternator on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Begin replacement of the generator by first removing the Drive Belt while following the battery disconnect caution. The first step involves removing the negative Battery Cable before taking off the generator electrical connector (1 and 2). Start by detaching the generator's battery feed terminal nut then disconnecting the battery feed cable. First disconnect the generator mounting bolts before pulling out the generator. Install the generator by placing it onto the mounting bracket then fasten the generator bolts at 50 n.m (37 lb ft) torque. Connect the generator electrical connector (1 and 2) before you install the battery feed cable together with its terminal nut. Secure the nut with a torque of 13 n.m (10 lb ft). Position the Drive Belt and restore the negative Battery Cable.
