2006 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: When replacing the bcm always turn off the ignition first to protect against electric shock damage to both bcm and electronic components. Keep both connector pins and bcm circuit board safe from contact while disconnecting and reconnecting power to the bcm system components including Battery Cable, connectors, fuses, and jumper cables. Unfold the passenger carpet section to reach the bcm area before lifting up the lower bracket tab to detach the bcm and raise it out from the upper bracket receptacles. Unplug bcm connectors and take out the bcm from the automobile. To mount the new bcm first disable engine power and join its wiring connectors before aligning the upper bracket slots then pushing the lower bracket tab to lock the unit firmly. After putting back the carpet normal operations begin with programming a new bcm to match the vehicle.
