2006 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to replace the underhood electrical center or junction block requires negative Battery Cable disconnection after which technicians must remove the positive Battery Cable lead nut from the junction block while repositioning the cable lead elsewhere. The first step involves removing the cover from the junction block before you disengage the electrical cable retainers located at the rear. Open the lower cover of the junction block by turning it upside down while you loosen the bolts which secure engine, i/p and forward lamp wiring harness connectors. Remove the junction block only after disconnecting both the engine and i/p wiring harness connectors from it. The installation requires the i/p wiring harness connector and the Engine Wiring Harness Connector to mate with the junction block while underhood junction block connector bolts need to be tightened to 7 n.m (62 lb in). Place the electrical center with its right side facing up before reinstalling electrical cable retainers at the rear section and placing the junction block cover. Connect the positive Battery Cable lead to the junction block stud using a lead nut tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Afterward reconnect the negative Battery Cable to finish the process.
