Chevrolet Corvette Fuse Box Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the underhood fuse box on Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to change either the underhood electrical center or junction block requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. The junction block positive cable lead must be disconnected by removing its lead nut for positioning the cable outside the block. Proceed by first taking off the junction block cover and direct your attention to the electrical cable retainers in the rear. You should turn the junction block upside down to open its lower cover after which you should loosen bolts that secure engine, i/p and forward lamp wiring harness connectors on the junction block. The technicians disconnect both Engine Wiring Harness Connector and i/p wiring harness connector from junction block before removing the junction block. Install the junction block by connecting the i/p wiring harness connector with the Engine Wiring Harness Connector until you secure each underhood junction block connector bolt to 7 n.m (62 lb in). To install the junction block, first position the electrical center in its upright form then place the electrical cable retainers in the back section before placing the junction block cover. The positive Battery Cable lead must be connected to the junction block stud while adjusting the lead nut until it reaches 10 n.m (89 lb in) torque then looping back to reconnect the negative Battery Cable.
