2006 Chevrolet Corvette Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Start replacing the Brake Master Cylinder by removing its electrical connector first and then disconnecting all brake pipes connected to the cylinder. You must add rubber caps to brake pipe ends when they are exposed to block brake fluid loss and stop harmful materials from entering the system. First remove the master cylinder mounting nuts then take the master cylinder out of the vehicle by draining all brake fluid from the reservoir. Mount the master cylinder on the Brake Booster after bench bleeding all fluid from it. Place the master cylinder mounting nuts on their threads and turn them to 29 nm (21 ft. Lbs.) of torque. You should use the brake pipes to join them with the master cylinder while making sure each fitting gets tightened to 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Rejoin the electrical cable with the Brake Fluid Level Sensor then perform hydraulic brake system bleeding.
