2007 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: To change the Brake Master Cylinder start by unplugging its electrical connection and then disconnect the brake lines at the cylinder location. Use rubber caps to plug the brake line ends to avoid fluid loss. Connect plugs to the open brake pipe ends then take off the master cylinder mounting nuts to extract the component from the vehicle while draining brake fluid from the reservoir. Before putting the master cylinder into position always bleed it properly on your workbench. Place the master cylinder nuts in position and torque them to 29 n.m (21 lb ft). Plugs should be removed from brake pipes while connecting those pipes to the master cylinder using a torque of 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Link the Brake Fluid Level Sensor electrical connector back to its position then flush the hydraulic brake lines.
