2008 Chevrolet Corvette Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2008 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: First disconnect the electrical connection to the Brake Fluid Level Sensor and then remove brake pipes from the master cylinder with a rubber cap to seal fittings and prevent brake fluid loss. After plugging the open brake pipe ends you should remove the master cylinder mounting nuts to extract the unit from the vehicle. Empty all brake fluid from the master cylinder storage tank. After bleeding at the bench install the master cylinder to the Brake Booster and tighten its mounting nuts to 29 n.m (21 lb ft). Join the brake pipes to the master cylinder main plug and tighten screws until they reach 24 n.m (18 lb ft) torque. Finished installation requires plugging the Brake Fluid Level Sensor's electrical connector and draining the brake system.
